G35 break-in and oil change experience.

Hi all. I noticed a considerable increase in horsepower or accerlation performance as my G35 gets older.

Before I acquired this G, I test drove 8 MT models and 3 AT models, I wanted 6MT in the beginning but settled for AT. MT was too rough like Z and I like tired of driving stick for 15+ years thru Los Angeles traffic.. One particular G, an AT, was super fast, I called it a factory 'freak', once in a while a car is faster, I know some of you might think Im crazy cuz they are all made by machines with high precision. I didn't get it cuz my pink for my old car came late so I sold it late too carmax for down payment and it was gone 5 days later... So I ended up getting another one.

So far I have 8000 miles.

After the true break in period of 1200 whatever so miles my G didn't feel that fast... about 240 hp-ish. Didnt change my oil at this point, went till 4000 miles then got first oil change, to semi-synthetic, feels about 250, slightly faster and smoother and more torque. Then another oil change at 7000 miles with same oil, this time the car feels 280 hp-ish, more more torque! and faster! Faster than the factory freak I drove. At this rate I guess the true potential is really kicking in now. I plan to change to full synthetic mobil 1EP at 10,000 miles, I'm think the true 300 hp will come out at that point.

The VQs are known to have rather long break-in periods.

You still have some time to go, based on the older VQ.
