G35 sedan vs BMW 550i

Hi all. I posted a similar thread last week but it was erased... I guess I should not talking about driving !@#$ on the streets.

I 'plan' to race my friend's 07' BMW 550i at California Speedway or Fontana SPeedway. Totally legal. I expect to beat him all the thru the entire quarter mile. Both car are stock. He will be very mad, heh. Will video it.

It was deleted because this does not belong in this section...

You should take this thread to "Other cars" in "the Lounge" of this forum.

Should be interesting...i think it will be close but i believe stock vs stock the 550i will have your number at the end of the 1/4 mile

You really expect a 306HP/268FT-LB V6-powered car to beat a 360HP/360 lb.-ft. V8?

Unless the BMW driver is a total noob at driving, you'll most likely be looking at his taillights....

I don't think the G35S will be beating a 550...if it was a 535i it will be close. Both that models post very similar speed figures..And if the 535i is at a road course against the G35....that will be very interesting. Personally even if the 535i is better than the G35...it is so close the the 535i won't justify the $27k difference as I've experienced.

I dunno what the weight is.. But usually bimmers weigh alot, and I wouldn't doubt that a 5 series weighs around 4000 lbs.

A crappy launch at the drag strip can cost you a race also

I looked at some actual drag times for these and it looks like it will come down to the driver reaction time.
