though 3k is a lot, i think its fair... Think of the gas prices especially for a big Tanker sized ship sailing ACROSS the OCEAN..... that, then the container being moved to the boat then off.... Plus they aren't going to route a trip just for your car, it has be what ever route they are planning and the days they were planning to move.... So yea, 3k and 42days isn't as bad when you think of the actual process.... Though i wish it would be quicker, not to sure how long it takes to sail across the pacific then to Qatar (middle eastern country right?)

sound bout right.

If you can find somebody to share the container with you could split the cost with the person.

Yeah....$3250 isn't bad at all. The last person I knew who did this (Phillipines to US) paid just over $10,000. That was several years ago, but I wouldn't have expected it to be that cheap.

Am I reading something wrong!! I read it as 3250.00 per week in a 42 day transit. 6 weeks in 42 days = 19500. Or did I get that all wrong..

Weekly is how often they can get your car on a boat (no waiting). So the $3250 is total for shipping. I checked 2 other places and they were $3375 and $3500.

Now duty is another matter..... I know in Dubai it's 5% of market value. No idea in Qatar.

Be careful though. There are lots of fees they don't tell you about. Usually the price you are quoted just covers shipping....not them doing all the paper work (which there is tons of), insurance (since maritime law covers some ridiculously low amount), loading / unloading fees, duty, etc. Hopefully they've improved over the years, but that price seems low, so I'd ask lots of questions.

That's not bad at all. It cost $6500 to ship(via Air) a horse from Germany and only takes a few days even with Quarantine.
