Found a solution, just used some zipties. Pretty much just screwed the license to the frame, and ziptied the frame to the grill mesh. Should stay on there. Put some masking tape underneath, don't expect it to stay, but its still there.

can you find the zipties?

apparently, masking tape is terrible for the paint, so i took it off, no damage luckily.
