Wiper Blades

Hey guys so here is the deal, i have an 08 G35

w/ 8600 miles on it, got it 12/31/07 so about 4 months or so old.

I just used my wipers and it looks like crap. Will they still cover this or will them make me buy a new set of inserts?

Are the OEM blades that bad, should i just get a new set from another brand??

I dont mind spending the money, but come - on i didnt just spend 35 grand on a car with crapier blades than my honda, which laster 40K on the first set of blades (i drive a lot so that was only like 14 months)

I have been driving the G less since gas is expensive and i fly a bit more, also because my family decided to keep the honda, which is a great beater w/ 120K miles on it.

I plan on keeping this one this the wheels fall off...

I didn't change my blades for over a year. I finally replaced them with Valeos at 15k. Checkout tirerack.com, they have buy one get one for Valeos.

My blades were making noises after about 10 months. So I bought the OEM inserts and all is kosher.

They do seem to last not very long when compared to my old Acura or my wife's Toyota.

I completely agree. Similar thing happened to me - rotors were warped at like 5k miles, got fixed up all free.

Valeos? I have heard good things about the Rain-X, and less good things about the Bosch. Anyone compared the Rain-X to the Valeos??

I put the Bosch on my previous car, an '06 Mazda6. I thought they were excellent.

i have bosch on my 2003 IS300 and I think they are the best wipers I have ever had. They are one piece blades that flex to the windshield

the stock ones look exactly like the rain-x blades. ever wonder why the rain-x blade commercial showed only nissan/infiniti products?

If the wipe blades are shattering or smearing: try cleaning the rubber with denatured alcohol. Use a clean cloth or paper towel, you will see the amount of wear and dirt come off on the towel. Then try them in the rain again. usually works like a Charm. If that doesn't work or the rubber is separated or torn, then you need new wiper blade refills.

Many, many, many items are covered under warranty for the first year or first 12k miles. Wipers are one of them. As long as they think the wipers need replacing, they should replace them free of charge as long as you're under 12k miles.
