Here's what Left Lane News said:
The G37 Sedan and EX35 have the same engine as the popular G37 Coupe
sold here in North America. The difference is the motor has been detuned from 330 horsepower to 306. As a result, the G37 Sedan bound for Europe is pretty much equal in performance to the 3.5-liter G35 Sedan sold in America. Interestingly, the G37 Sedan actually has less torque than its G35 counterpart — 258 pound-feet instead of 270.

honestly I dont feel so bad about feeling screwed over getting a 35 when 37 sedan is coming out soon.

Yeah, fuel efficiency is more important to the Eurpoeans, gas is at least $8/gallon there. Its possible that the detuned G37 will have more fuel efficiency than the G35s engine. Does the G37 have the 7 speed, vs the 5 speed on the 35, if that’s the case then it’s a no brainer why they went with the detuned 3.7l engine.
The US may get the 330HP G37 engine, I believe the new Nissan Z is coming out soon so whatever engine is on there could possibly be on the G35/G37 sedan.
Personally I love the G35 engine, granted it revs higher but I still think the car is quite inside. However if the 3.7l becomes available, I am simply getting that one. I love new stuff, I will just wait one year for the bugs to be fixed.
