^ would make sense. They had to tune it down to be the acceptable limit in Europe for the emission. If it comes here in North America it will be the same as the coupe.

Only thing I really envy over the 09 is the scratch resistant paint.. I think our paint it so weak compared to German cars. Oh and the cheap grill..

Don't need the 3.7, just give me the 7 speed AT, Akebono brakes and 19" wheels.

Way the paint was described at the dealer to me is that a Resin Powder is mixed in the clear coat so it never technically fully sets. Therefore, it slowly moves and can fix small things ... such as minor scratches, swirl marks, etc.

Just what I've heard.

I don't think there will be G37 sedan for 2009, just my guess.

EVeryone thinks "de-tuning" the 3.7 is silly, but the 330hp 3.7 is already de-tuned...

All you have to do is look at a g37 dyno and its pretty obvious...

Wouldn't the paint then experience creep over the years?

Dude wtf are you talking about?

The EU G37 coupe is listed with the same specs as well. They could be doing it for fuel economy reasons + 7-speed auto for the EU.

We won't know the official North American numbers for the G37 sedan until they announce it. It still could come here with a full 330 HP like the coupe.

BTW, according to MT tests, the 2009 FX35 with 7-Speed automatic gets 16/21 MPG.
And you do notice that the torque in that thing is about 12 ft-lb less than what we have in America?

Found another article:

Infiniti has revealed its 2009 G37 Sedan and EX37 crossover for the European market. While we haven't heard definitively yet, it appears the G37 Sedan and EX37 will be sold in Europe only, rather than replacing the G35 Sedan and EX35 in the United States.

The G37 Sedan and EX35 have the same engine as the popular G37 Coupe sold here in North America. The difference is the motor has been detuned from 330 horsepower to 306. As a result, the G37 Sedan bound for Europe is pretty much equal in performance to the 3.5-liter G35 Sedan sold in America. Interestingly, the G37 Sedan actually has less torque than its G35 counterpart — 258 pound-feet instead of 270.

The EX37, meanwhile, is slightly superior than the EX35 in terms of horsepower and torque — 306 hp versus 297 horsepower, and 258 pound-feet versus 253 lb-ft.

As mentioned above, it's not known if the U.S. will get these revised models for the 2009 model year (or later), but recent rumors suggest Infiniti will stick with the 3.5-liter V6 for the North American models.

If those numbers are in fact accurate, the Europeans can have their G37 sedan.
