i was thinking the same thing...

 

550 is fast, second fast behind M5. I won't even try to run them when I see one unless I have someone better then what I have now. Then again, may be I will try to run 535.

 

I'm afraid I don't know anything about the BMW 550i. It looks average, but in performance, a had to look it up. What the he perception of it's performance? It's almost exactly the same as the G Sedan. Except a bit slow. See below:

All joking aside, I just dropped the G off at the dealership that is buying it and slid the keys in the drop box, it was pretty sad. I have never been so torn about trading a car. The G is a frickin sweet car! I am already pissing people off on the BMW forums defending the G against their bavarian attitude. I think I will still be hanging out around here. Hell, I might fly down there tomorrow and not like it, catch a plane home and go get my G back. They are waiting until I buy the other car to process everything...

performance wise the 550i isnt slow but it's not that fast comparing to what your paying for? even though its going at 360 hp, it does have a v8 which puts it close to 4,000 lbs. your gas mileage will be slightly lowered i believe . my friend has a 550i and it looks so nice with the stock 19's and the m5 lipkit. none the less it is a very,very,very decent car for daily driving, passengers, trunk space and it will go if you tell it to. plus it's on a whole upper level class compared to the G. excellent upgrade choice buddy =D

bro if you have never driven a bmw with the SMG tranny i highly suggest you do so before you fly out to pick up your 550. I currently have an E46 M3 with the SMG tranny. People either love it or hate it, there is no in between.

 

I HATED it. So, I had to catch a ride back to the airport, buy a walk up flight ticket and have someone pick me back up from the airport. So, now I either have to go back and get my G back on Monday, or throw the money down on another 550i or maybe a G8.

It turned into an expensive mistake, but it would have been worse if I paid $35k for a car I didnt love...

 

Dude, take a good long look at your avatar, come to your senses and then go and get your car back!

 

Hang on to that G. Don't let that stealership have it for 26k. At the very least, slow your self down a bit, keep it on Cars.com & autotrader and you will certainly get more than 26 for it.

 

since you hated the bimmer, get an M45!
