So in reality, the G8 GT's powertrain is more efficient.
That means the G8 has 0.0029 more HP per pound than the G35. So it requires more HP to match the G35's performance. How is that more efficient?

Why don't you just fix your G35? Put the stock suspension on and it will drive and handle like a dream.
I've been down the same road with my trucks, lifting them to the moon, big tires, electric this/offroad that, and after driving it for 40k miles they are shot and worn out.
Trade it in and go through the same thing. Well I'm on my 4th truck since 2001, and this one looks no different than it did when I pulled it off the dealer lot, as I'm going to keep it until it dies (finally wised up)
From what I've read on this thread, your showing an impulsive behavior, and not thinking rationally. Ie: trading your g35 for $26k (thats 10-15k you threw away in a year(factor in your mods)) Buying a 3 year old car (I know you walked on it) to replace a car you bought new 1 year ago. That 550 is a minor upgrade. Now your jumping on a Pontiac???? That dealer is going to sell your car to somebody for $32k.
Factor in your tax, license, new wheels/tires, and your talking about a grip of cash to drive a car that has no more curb appeal than a Toyota camry.
Not trying to act like the Father here, but take a step back and look at the entire picture before you make a move that you'll regret.
How much would it cost to put the stock stuff back on the G????

Its done. The car is gone, I called the dealer and told them to go ahead and sell it. I got $8k more than I owed on it. With that $8k I am going to pay off some other bills and pay some stuff down. I currently own 2 houses b/c of the real estate market and 1 of them sat empty for 10 months, so, this money will help me out. I was planning on using most of it for this reason, and only a few k for downpayment on a new car.

For now, I am not going to buy anything, I have a beater Wrangler that I am going to drop a little money into to get it in better running condition and just wait until I am in a better position to buy what I REALLY want (whatever that may end up being)...

Thanks for everyone's insight, support, and criticism. At the end of the day, I am making the smart financial decision, as hard as it is. So, I might just go a few months without a car and drive the beater... maybe the 09 G8 with Nav will come out and Ill be ready to jump? Or the GXP? Or the 09 G37 Sedan Unicorn Edition?

Wait a sec... just seeing this thread. You traded it in to the dealer for $26k when I offered you $27k for it?
