Got a loaner car Friday...08 G35x
I dropped my car off at the dealership last Friday for its 15,000 mile service, since the service was going to take 2-4 hours they gave me a loaner car...a 2008 G35x.
People were not kind to that loaner, it was missing the front badge, paint was chipped at the bottom of the front bumper, scratches on the rear bumper, and the sunroof would make an odd noise while opening or closing it. No rattles in the interior though.
I'm used to my Sport where you feel every nook and cranny in the road, the ride in the G35x was a little more forgiving but of course it leaned a lot more on corners too. I still don't understand why so many G buyers around here opt for the G35x...its not like it snows that often here. Since it was an '08 it didn't have that non-linear throttle response, which was nice. I did miss not having a back up camera for the day though. Four hours later the dealer called me to tell me that my car was ready for pick up, so I went there after work to pick up my freshly washed Sport. They did a lot of stuff for the 15,000 mile check up. Glad that everything with the car is still in working order and that my tires were balanced and an alignment was done....not that I really needed either. Only out of pocket expenses I had to pay was the synthetic oil (only regular oil is covered by my 4 years free maintenance plan) and the air filters ($38 total, this was an optional service, since it was optional, if I wanted it done I'd have to pay out of pocket for the parts...at first I thought $38 was a bit steep...then I remembered I needed two air filters so $17/filter isn't bad at all).
So far the service department at Infiniti has lived up to my expectations...only gripe (if you wanna call it a gripe), is that everytime I get my car serviced, I have a new service advisor. The one I had this time around was extremely nice and courteous, lets hope she sticks around for longer than 3 months.

Hmm not everyone will want the sport suspension, less forgiving ride! For the majority of drivers out there, the G is plenty sporty enough! Of course here at g35driver there are a lot more enthusiasts so you'll see a greater percentage of the sport models.
I agree with the 08 throttle response. Car felt totally slow, but this was due to how I had adjusted to press on the gas pedal on the 07.
Also, I would not let the dealership wash my car ever again. It was just this one time I noticed bird poop hit near the rear trunk when I got to the dealership. When my car was done, I checked the wash. The bird poop wasn't even off. You could still see bits of white residue. Even worse was all the water spots I saw here and there. The next time I went in, I told them no wash since its always complimentary. When I got a loaner FX which was at the back of the dealership, I saw these two teenagers washing the cars. Probably shouldn't even go into the details with what they were using. But maybe your dealership is different, mine just plain sucks
