Premature battery failure?

So I have not driven my '07 for about a week, I go to start it up the other day and the car was completely silent when I pressed the start button.

At first I thought the keyfob required a new battery, but when I went to switch on the headlights, nothing happened either.

I have both an '05 Rav 4 and a '05 Matrix and I have had both sit for two weeks or longer without the battery going dead.

Has anyone had this problem of the "idle battery life" just not lasting?.

Yes, a couple of other owners have reported the same thing. That's odd...wonder if the RFID for the i-Keys stays on all the time polling for keys, and it's a battery drain?

I had same thing happen to me in January after 9 days. I drew a quick conclusion at time that battery got a hole it... anyway dealer said everything checked out fine. It has not re-occurred but I do leave it on a trickle charger if I leave it not running for more than 5 days. I plan to get a new battery later in the year.

It is curious to see that they used such a tiny battery on the G...

That could attribute to the low shelf life...

My dealer also said there were no issues, but if we all keep reporting it, maybe there will be a recall?

Dead Battery after a day at work

So listen to this - I am a high school teacher and I come out of school yesterday and walk to my 5 month old car in the parking lot around 8 hours after parking in the morning. All was well in the morning on the way to work. The door unlocks using the handle button, but when I get in and press start, the wheel jitters downward and then everything stops. The battery is completely dead. I checked the lights and they were set to auto. Even with lights on the car has the battery saver. I have no idea what caused this. Luckily I had a booster pack in my office and was quickly on my way. After my commute the car started fine and everything was normal. I read a few others having battery problems in older Gs but they had all left their cars for weeks or months even.

Any thoughts?

Other potentially relavent details. A couple of weeks ago I was driving home and the radio was playing and the A/C automatic climate control was running. The system seemed to crash and and everything was stuck as it was set, but nothing was on my screen. I pulled over, turned off the car, waited and restarted but it was the same. When I continued to drive home, the system seemed to reboot what felt like an eternity later (but was probably 4 or 5 minutes). Now it is all fine. Hasn't reoccurred.

Could these be related?
