Damn, that truely sucks as it will never be the same. I've had one vehicle with frame damaged repaired and one with core support damage. Neither of them ever had the fit and finish they did prior to the accident. I almost kicked the second accident driver's *** because I knew what was going to happen to my car

When you get the car back, check the trunk, rear bumper, 4 wheel alignment, and probably all your electronics in the car.

Also pay very close attention to any vibrations that may occur at highway speeds. I previously was hit from behind with another car, it was repaired and it never drove the same afterwards.

I agree. The car will probably not drive the same from now on...I would try to trade it in if you don't take a huge loss.

My 2008G35s was hit in the rear very similiar to your accident pics. The inner bumper was bent and the car suffered minor frame damage. Which the body shop put right. We are talking tolerances of millimeters.

After the 4 wheel alignment, the repair looked good. The rear bumper paint job was not stellar(about 85% where 100% is perfect). But the car drove very well. As good as new. I think your car will drive fine. Now the frame damage for my car was supposedly behind the rear wheels.

Then I got hit again in rear bumper. Re-replaced bumped at same body shop. This time they got the paint job right (97%).

I'd trade it in. Cars never drive the same with frame damage. You should point all the little things to the repair shop so that they know about it. Make a check list and advise the insurance company.

Hey G35robby, my car got hit exactly like yours 2 weeks ago, I am picking up my car on Friday though. I had the exact damage as you, initially I thought it was just the bumper but the guy at the autobody shop indicated that the frame moved by showing me the difference in the gaps of the two doors. My baby was only 2 months old.

After reading these posts, I hope my car drives the same. I would hate to go for the remainder of my lease with a car that doesnt drive great. I will let you know when I test drive it this weekend

Bummer about the accident, and also bummed to hear about all the other members that have had similar wrecks
Curious how much the damage estimate was?
Also how much of a hit you'd take on trading it in since I'm sure carfax would have it listed as being in an accident. Hope I never have to go through what you're dealing w/ now. Sure hope it's as good as new in appearance & driving performance~best of luck!

My car has never been better, and that is with 3 rear enders... all minor -- except for the 1st guy who rammed my parked car @40mph in a parking spot. Total repair cost: 3 rear ends... $5-6000

Like Surgery...

Bad move my friend. That's why you never walk in on the middle of surgery. Some images you just cant get out of your head.

Always wait til it's in the recovery room.

dont worry about it...itll drive the same....for those who say it wont drive the same....there is a difference between frame and chassis damage....has nothin to do the wheels at all....when the frame is bent all they do is pull it out and hammer out the dents....these ppl at the body shops r pros...just take it to a good body shop and u got nothin to worry about....i just hope they paint my car right....they got the paint from the dealer but it depends what style they have of painting the car....thats all thats on my mind but im sure itll be great

Why wouldn't Infiniti extend the aluminum bumper out a little further to protect more of the rear section.

the body dhop i took it too is known as one of the best here and they r close friends of my family....they said the car wont drive any different from how it came outa the dealer....im hoping...cuz my friend got hit even worse than me....way worse...he got hit my a huge Uhaul truck and his dsmage was like wow....he said he feels like it came outa the dealer....so im hoping the same results
any suggestions after what i should do once i get it back besides a wheels alignment and a high speed vibration check?
Not trying to be a dick here, but those where some sketchy looking pulls they where making on your frame. I'm hoping that he is actually doing a "pre-pull" to aid in the repair, and not a precesion frame pull. First of all, I saw no measuring system, which leads me to believe they are using a mechanical measuring system (very old technology, and no proof it's in spec except the word of the tech). At my shop (and most larger shops) computerized measuring systems, and actual frame racks are used, these can produce print out's of the exact specs, and are far more accurate.

With that said, a car can definatey be returned to pre-loss condition, if it's repaired properly. My best piece of advice is to make sure the shop warranties their work for as long as you have the vehice, and make sure it's in writing.
