What happens when TPMS sensors are gone

you can open ur gauge cluster a put a black piece of electric tape over the light if you want...thats what i do on my landcruisers after i remove the rear air bags

No what I meant was...

Once I remove my stock wheels and throw them in the garage for a season, run some aftermarket-no TPMS wheels for the summer, will the warning light disappear once I put my stock wheels back on after a season without them?

That is correct, once you put your stock wheels and sensors back on your light will go out.
