I'm surprised how many people thought the loaners felt faster. Interesting.....

I would think that the loaners would have regular fuel and would be slower and beat on.

Brought my '06 6MT in earlier this week for the 30k and a few things here and there, they gave me a 08 sedan with 1100 miles on it. The responsiveness was so significantly different I had to hop on here and search around to make sure the auto wasn't faster than the 6MT in some strange way. I was actually thinking about picking up a gtech for the next time I have a loaner, just to see how big the difference was.

My coupe just feels sloppy. I was never really excited with this car after my 300zx TT, this experience is sorta confirming those feelings. Not sure how much either a flashed ecu, new clutch, or flywheel would help, but I'm thinking it's that or time to go car shopping...

How'd your search go?

In answer to your question, the 08 auto is faster than your 06 manual. Noticeably. (and you noticed)

Also the 08 auto is just as fast, if not .1 seconds faster than the 08 manual. That's thanks to the fact the gearing is 10% steeper than the 06 auto.

My loaners feel like they have a significant decrease in performance. Most likely from the lower grade fuel.

silverG2007 - ah, somehow missed that about the '08. Makes sense, have to say I'm not too fond of the gearing on 1st/2nd in my '06. Not sure I wanna screw with that, though.
