Journey front bumper inlet vent project
#61
There is a guy on this forum who drilled some holes into the fake mesh and it looked nice, but since i got injen CAI i'm worried about soaking up water in rainy days or when washing the car.
I'd say only drill the whole on the far ends so that the water won't hit the filters directly, even though i think there is like %10 chance that water might hit the filters anyways.

what is behind the fake vent if you have the car stock? anything important?
complete mesh replacement would look 10x better

Radiator, bracing, etc. The air filter intake are way high, nowhere near these fake vents. Even if cut out water would not get in the filter unless it raining hard amd you are at high speed, but honestly rain will go throught grill in the same way and that's where the air filter intakes are. Yes, several guy have cut out and replace will mesk. Looks cheap to me thought.
