30,000 Mile Service

I can't seem to find this when searching in the forum but what is included in the 30,000 mile service for the G35.

The dealer quoted $495 to my wife this morning when she dropped off her can and that said we also need new back brakes for another $300.

yeah, after reading the link to the pdf on the 30k service...they definitely replace a lot of stuff. The 60k service looks the most expensive

I guess I will just pay it then. Oh well. Part of owning an expensive vehicle.

There is absolutely no way you need rear brakes already unless you use the G for track days every weekend. Right? I have never needed to replace the rear pads on a car until at least 75k miles, usually closer to 100k. They just simply don't do that much braking.

I would question the brakes needing to be replaced also...that's just rubbish. But just be glad you didn't buy a IS250

+1 - my G runs pretty hard , and the brakes are holding up far better than I expected.

Ask for your old pads when you get there. Unless garbage collection has come, make them dig them out of the trash and show you. Then, if they still want to charge you, ask for a manager. Ask at what point did they have permission to change the rear brakes, unless of course they're doing them under warranty. There is simply no way the rear should need brakes under normal wear and tear and that should be considered excessive wear without reason.

Once I saw the price on the 30K service at the dealer I went to a nissan/infiniti shop I've been using for years and they did it for a little over half the price. The dealer said I needed new breaks but my shop looked and disagreed.

When I called 2 bay area dealers they quoted me at $649 and $699 respectively, i think that's a pretty good price then. BUT the brake pads, NO FREAKING WAY does the back wear out in 30k...
