^ wow they better fix this up quick, not cool to have such a hazardous problem on a new car, make sure you let them know that it is quite threatening at times to drive as the car refuses to budge at highway speeds.

Show them that you are upset and not the other way around. Regardless of how hard you drove it, you could not have gone past the rev limiter thus such a seriuos problem should never have occurred...

Step 1:

CHECK YOUR TRANNY FLUID LEVELS!!!!!

If it's slipping that bad, very low fluid (leak or whatever) could be the problem.

Oh yeah, and DON'T DRIVE THE CAR!!!!

Have them pick it up, or bring the car in right away.

You don't want to cause more problems.

How did your transmission replacement finally work out? Any explanation on why it went in the first place?
What EXACTLY did they do to fix the problem?
What did you tell Infiniti about what happened and did anyone give you a hard time?

Have there been any more cases of drive train failures for the 2007+ G35?

You don't have to bull**** a dealer about babying the car. It's VERY easy to tell if that's true or not.

Regardless, at this point, it sounds like it should be a warranty issue. Unless you've been doing neutral drops, the tranny can take all the abuse you can dish out with a stock motor.

Have the car towed in by Infiniti Roadside Assistance.

Funny thing, I was messing around today and decided to use manual mode on my car at a light, and when i went to shift to 2nd gear it wouldn't shift at all it felt like it went into neutral. After getting off the gas and putting it into drive i pressed on the gas and the car just rev'ed up like it was in N but i looked at the lever and the display on the dash and it showed that it was in drive. Well I had to coast down a hill into a light and decided to turn the car off and see what would happen. After turning it back on and putting into drive it worked fine..... has anyone heard or had this happen to them before

From: Waltham Ma,
MM my car is at the dealer right now for a valve body, I think. They went for the test ride with me told me thats what they think it is. So they gave me a loaner and sent me on my way. My CEL was on also. I hope they call me today and at least let me know whats up.. BTW I have 1800 miles on mine and I was very easy on the car for the first 1500 just started driving a little agressive..

Yes, it is and that is what the service tech guy keeps telling me. Because I ask them to document everything. They say o.k. but please remember your covered for 6 yrs. 70k, you will be fine.
