looking to get an 07+ sedan!

hey guys, just wanted to start out by sayin that this community is great!

Well, I'm looking to get an 07+ G and had some questions about it before I pick it up. I'm getting it used as I never buy new. Question is, For those of you that have 25k or more miles on your G what has your experience been? Any problems or buggs that have surfaced since you have owned it? Is there anything that I should look out for and stay away from? If it has the same VQ motor as the nissan Z, how long do you think the motor will last as in milage?

Sell it to me, because thats the only thing thats holding me back. I dont know much about nissan/Infinity motors. Its either this or a Lexus. BUT DAMN, the G is so sexy!

Thanks in advanced!

i only have 12.5K on my 2007 and i've had no issues at all. no squeaks or rattles, still runs as smoothly as the first day and still looks as beautiful as ever. for the money it's the best buy out there, and that's no knock on performance because this thing rules the road. it's hard to beat the handling, stopping power, and 5.4 second 0-60 time. i'd definitely find one with the premium package at minimum, it gets you heated seats, memory seating, bluetooth, upgraded stereo, etc. also the sport package has bigger/better wheels, brakes, limited slip diff, more aggressive front bumper and side sills, paddle shifters, aluminum pedals and more refined seats. and if you can afford the navi, go for that as well. it's one of the top navi systems out there. good luck!

Some of our loaners are nearing the 50k mark with nary an engine issue.

Oh, and believe me. People BEAT on the loaners and I can pretty much guarentee that they've probably only seen 87 fuel.

i'm right at 25k miles...only real problem is a few rattles, but that could be due to my aftermarket sound system...and the tires are balding

sounds great! I knew I can count on you folks for getting back to me asap.

What about the longevity of the motor? What is the life expectancy of the motor? Its a VQ also right?

Thanks again for the quick feed back!

The VQ is considered the single best motor on the market.

the motor is the main decision i chose the G over the M3...i needed a car that would last (mileage wise)...i don't think there is anything you need to worry about engine wise on this car

I'm at about 26k miles, have no regrets at all. It's run like a watch (this is my third Nissan VQ, the first two were also great). I have some minor complaints, the sunroof is loud when open, the passenger mirror howls at high speeds, but overall it's a great car.

I am nearing 25K - no major complaints of any kind regarding the motor/drivetrain. The only issue that bugged me (aggressive throttle tip-in) was fixed with an ECU flash at the dealership a while ago. Since then, only a rattling exhaust tip was replaced. Great car.

33K on mine and not a hiccup, the VQ's are bulletproof. If you want to buy mine, send me a PM. Full maintenance records are available.

I've almost 28k on my engine. Absolutely 0 problems what so ever mechanically.

There is a recall that my car is qualified for. Sometimes folks sitting in the passenger seat have to deal with the fact that the seats weight sensor is off and will turn off the airbag, although they are heavy enough to warrant the airbag being on. Other than that, 0 issues.
