Post Do the mirrors tilt ?

I'm getting a 08 G35xS in about a week or so, and I sat in my friends G35x playing with all the features, Noticed that the mirrors dont tilt on reverse.

So there an option to turn it on ? or do have to mod it ?

Tilting not folding in. It makes it easier to see curbs.

You know what else makes it easy to spot curbs?

Back up cameras.

Look at the g from the end. There is no point for the folding. The mirror is actually half way covered by the fender. So if you fold it you would have the back half sticking out almost as much as it is unfolded. You would gain maybe 2". Why would you want to put yourself soewhere where there is only 2" or so.

Actually, it is not only European sedans that do that. The Nissan Maxima with the Drivers package includes the power folding mirrors option. I know because I had an 05 maxima with it.

Folding in is for the garage and women drivers.

My wife AND my sister in law each took out a side mirror in the last couple years backing out of the garage.

I would NEVER park my G into a spot that was so tight that it required me to fold in my mirrors.
It's a useless option.

As for tilting, our Acura MDX has tilting mirrors and they're fantastic for parking near curbs, or just to watch how close you are getting your wheels to obstacles while backing up.

A while back someone posted a good point on tilting mirrors: When you back up, use the **** to tilt the right mirror down, and park. When you get back in, it'll move back up to memory position.

For the once every two months I need to see an outside curb, works great
