Thanks to all, makes me feel a whole lot better knowing that the car is OK and that im not the only who did this
However, I think it would make sense for Nissan to program it to shut off after a while if there is no key inside.

worst thing that could happen is you'd run out of gas.

That's not the best thing for your engine, but it won't hurt anything seriously.

I'd just be glad your car was still there!!!

I was under the impression that while the car, as evidenced by the OP, will continue to run without the i-key nearby, it will shut off if you try to drive it any appreciable distance without the key in range.

Nope, you can drive it as far as you (or a thief...) wants.

That is a good idea but only if the car is in PARK. It could shut down and lock the doors too.
You wouldn't want to give your car over to someone to drive (forgetting that the i-key is in your pocket) and the car stalls out while they are driving down the highway. That would be bad.

Change your oil. You probally consumed a little bit of it running your car like an oil refinery...lol...but other than that your car is fine.

Yeah, change your oil. At least your battery is well charged.

Had it changed yesterday Asked them to do the "Increased throttle sensitivity at low RPM" TSB, they couldn't do it because of "no data to download" whatever that means.

It's actually less stress on your engine to be driving than idling. The reason is because there is a lot of air flow going through the radiator keeping the car cool.

OTOH, when you're just idling, the fans are kicking in to move air across the radiator and it's not cooling nearly as well as if you were driving at 30 or 50 mph.

Years ago, RX7s would catch on fire when people were driving in stop and go traffic b/c they would overheat.
