Guess on new G37 Sedan 6MT performance vs G35 6MT?

Trying to determine if its better to get a great deal on a G35 6MT now or wait until after the G37 sedan 6MT is available and get the extra 30 HP.

Thoughts?

I don't think the difference will be that great. However, the current g35's will take a resale hit once the g37 is released. That's enough of a reason to wait IMO.

Is the sedan going to be like the coupe, more HP but less torque?

Anyway, I'd say wait to get the 7-speed and new year model. It's rare that you get a discount equal to the value hit once a new model (even just a new motor) comes out.

What do you mean?

The G37 coupe's VQ37VHR has more horsepower (+24) and torque (+2) than the sedan's VQ35HR.

But I agree, the OP should wait.

The new 7AT FX35 (6.1 Sec) is faster than the FX45 (6.5 Sec) and it absolutely smokes the old FX35 (7.3 Sec).

It will be interesting to see if the G37 Sedan 7AT can crack into the high 4's.

Id give it 5 flat...in stock form, but who the hell cares about 0-60 these days forreal? Its all about quarter mile period, in racing fashion (hopefully at a track ). All out... more power is truly seen at the higher speeds, where new gearing really plays its role...how about 80-120 differences? Thats better descriptive of real, new found power. Also factor in an added 20-30 lbs from the new big boy brakes on the new sedan in sport trim. Factor in added VVEL and 3.7L enhancements (roughly 10-20) lbs, and hopefully we can see what an added .2L's and VVEL has on the new fo-do's. Oh, and I wouldnt be surprised if the new 7AT is faster than the 6MT boys...

I doubt that. I think the 7AT if geared towards performance (which it should with 2 extra gears, even if 7th is for highway) along with the extra HP (this is not as big as a jump as we saw from the DE to HR change) then it will drop the 1/4 miles by .2 or so. Will make it closer, but the 335 will probably have a slight edge of .2-.3 seconds. I think the 6mt will be slower than the 7AT (I drive a 6MT) at the drag slip most of the time with the 6MT gaining .1 seconds over it's previous version.

Just my guess. I do think that those shopping for automatics will appreciate the extra 2 gears. I see that as the biggest change.

/Agree w/ the Automatic as the biggest change. Also to the OP, you should def wait. I prolly should have waited too but I couldn't since I'm heading back to school and I needa drive.

I hate to break this to you but MOST people DONT race....therefore making 0-60 times more important.
