Guess on new G37 Sedan 6MT performance vs G35 6MT?

1/4 mile acceleration give you the true performance capabilities of the car because it allows you to see just exactly how power is delivered. You'll see how 60' correlates to overall ET and just exactly how dependant the car is on it's ability to get off the line. You can also look at the correlation between ET and MPH. A car that gets 14.0s@100mph indicates it's pretty strong off the line as well as from a roll. A car that gets 14.5s@100mph indicates that it's either slow off the line (think Lexus LS460) or it's hard to launch (think 6MT Altima SER), but once rolling, the car accelerates hard. By just looking 0-60 times of an Altima SER vs a 1st gen G35, you'd see that the G35 posts decently quicker 0-60s therefore the lay person would think that in real world situations, the G would win in all contests. This is an incorrect assumption because if you take out the launch and measure 5+mph acceleration (ie the acceleration you'll use on the street), the SER is right there with the G35, maybe even quicker because of it's lighter weight and lower drivetrain loss.

If YOU'RE not into it performance specs, OK. But whats the issue?

I actually take my G35 6MT car to the track/drag strip very frequently. Most enthusiasts that you'll meet at these events could care less about 0-60 statistics.
