2008 G35xS Fuel Economy Estimate
Hi all,
I am new to forum and to G35. Have a question: G35xS 2008, 000700 mi ODT, City cycle only, cannot get more then 9.8 MPG or 1 full tank-GRADE SUPER only (17-18 gallons) for 160mi only. How I drive?? – Aggressively and gently. Finally the question: Is this normal range? Thank you.

Think there's a problem.

I defiantly agree with you, something wrong. And my ride almost as yours, acceleration, lots of stop, 99% city drive and my average 9.8. What exactly dealer can offer? And also my previous car was Maxima 05 and my average was with the same drive train -12.5

However, if you only got 12.5 in your Maxima (I had an '03 Maxima, and got 16 - 17), sound like you're creating part of the mileage problem (take that as a compliment, you obviously bought the car to drive hard).
But 9.8 is way too low, my wife's Sequoia gets 14 even with me driving it...

wow! i thought i drove my car hard but 9.8mpg you take the cake! My car when i first got it and i drove it fairly easy i was getting 16.7mpg consistantly. Now it has 13k on it and i beat the living crap out of it and get 20.4mpg consistantly.... I gun it off of every stop too... Reset your ecu and then try it again. Maybe its running rich. After the break in period you should get better mileage.

don't worry about that.
it's the engine computer that calculates how many miles you can go according to the previous tank fill. mine read 220miles as its range when i first got the car.
now after about one month of ownership with three tank fills, mine reads 340miles+ on the estimate. the best i got was 365miles
that's with careful driving ofcourse

MPG should improve after a couple thousand miles.

Yes i heard about break-in and i drive for now more intelligent. Also I live in Brooklyn and my ride takes me true the 25 local signal lights. I will post my MPG after a couple thousand miles. Thx for the hope.
