I searched and I couldn't find any definitive thread re: rattles from the center dash (seems to come from behind the climate controls/stereo area). I know there are defintely some people that have this issue. Anyone address this issue to the dealer and get it fixed? It's darn annoying.

 

Could be the TSB that respinds to the silicone partlices in the heater core maybe which is supposed to be a tapping noise...

 

I have same rattle. Did the tapping noise TSB but noise remains. Don't think there is a cure.

 

^ strange cause i have no such sound coming with over 21k on the odo. keep us posted if you do find a cure though for future owners...

 

check your sunglasses holder. if anything is in it, it can and will rattle at the right frequency of vibes.

 

Not sure if its the same problem, but I have a tapping noise too when the car is hot and I turn the A/C on. It seems to be the plastics in the dash expanding and contracting. Also, if I press on the side of the center console, I can hear it crackle as it flexes.

 

+1..... Sounds a little like a rainstick.

 

I'm interested to know if anyone has gotten anything done to fix this. But it seems as if it isn't something that can be fixed without replacing much of the dash and console.

 

I have this EXACT same problem, it's been driving me crazy for months.

 

I find that it's worse during the winter months and it's definitely related to the temp change within the cabin.
