Something very minor but have to ask

My gf just bought a 08 Journey with Premium + Navigation package

However, ive noticed that the Rear view mirror does NOT have the compass!!

Are we entitled to one? Can we ask the dealership to put it on when they tint and put the lojack in?

The car we test drove had it..and i assumed the car we got would have it.. but i just noticed it today (its been 48 hours)..

Sorry about the post..im a noob.

I believe only the '07s came with the compass on the rear view mirror even if you had NAV. I have an '08 with NAV and don't have a compass on my rear view mirror.

If you really wanted it I bet you could install the mirror with the compass, not sure how much that would cost though.

NAV doesn't have compass as specified in the brocure. I'd assume the NAV has a compass feature.

Yep, the compass in the mirror was an 07 thing, removed from the 08 as a possible cost savings attempt.
I have one in my mirror and honestly, I never look at it.
In fact, I've tried to turn it off but the next time you start the car, it's on again.
Drives me crazy.

The Nav system also has a compass, but I'm too dumb to utilize it.
I can never remember if the red of white points North. (LOL)

That's incorrect. Nav does have a compass in the bottom left corner of the Nav screen. See picture below.

I should have specified. I meant NAV package doesn't have the compass on the rear view mirror because I believed it was on the NAV screen.

^ Exactly, if you have the 08 w/nav you have no compass in mirror, otherwise you have it.

if you read the nav package options, it specifically says "deletes compass in rear view mirror" or something to that effect.
