Unhappy I really really need help....

Two days ago my car battery died. Now I cannot get into the car. The modification that was done on the driver side door actually works. By taking the key cylinder out of the door and taking off the orange connector piece that connects to the rod that allows the windows to open the window was removed. The reason was to prevent a person using a screw driver from easily popping off the escutcheon and forcing the windows to roll down. The reason the key cylinder was removed was for a secondary measure to really prevent the door from being opened. A dummy cylinder is in the place of the key cylinder. You can find these on any of the other three doors. Now I am screwed. My battery is dead and I can't get in. Do anyone know what I can do to get into my car without damaging it?Please someone help me.

Damn, looks like all your efforts to make your car secure really backfired
Maybe a top-notch locksmith could get in w/ one of those door jimmies, but it also sounds like you made that tougher to do as well
Good Luck!

I am wondering if there is a way I can somehow re-route power from under the car. Maybe connecting to a sensor or something with low voltage. Any suggestions?

If you can get to the alternator from below you can power the system from there. AAA should be able to get into the car.

Yikes...sorry to hear. Glad I just have the escutcheon, but left the keyhole underneath...

Would need to jack up the passenger side front wheel, pry away some wheel well liner and you may be able to get to it. This should be done carefully, the positive terminal is not the easiest thing to clamp on to.

there's a reason nissan/infiniti put a keyhole by the handle, and there's a reason I left it there.

I'd think the odds are that it's more likely to have a battery problem (hence causing this problem) then to have the car saved from theft or tampering due to the changes made. Security is always about striking a balance. You can have all the security in the world if you want zero functionality.

If you live in Northern, New Jersey near Newark, East Orange, Irvington, basically all of Essex County and Hudson County, your car will be broken into. That is why I did this mod. The cost to repair our doors range from 700 to 1000 dollars. It has happened to me three times, so I know how much of a headache it is. Now I know that I have to make an alternative boost point if my battery dies again. Of course now that I am stuck out of the car I now think this will be my next mod.

Not trying to be a wise *** but why live there? Or, if you're trapped there by a job or real estate, maybe a nice car just doesn't make sense. I'd imagine insurance must be pricey with the local um....industry hard at work.

As for your current dilemma, can a glass shop cut or break the window without much collateral damage? A piece of glass is relatively cheap. Maybe they have a way to get through safety glass without shattering it.

My front wind shield has a crack in it. Of course the highway was the cause. I will be replacing it next week.

I haven't messed around with it yet, but is there a way to pop the hood from the outside?
