Anyone tried connecting Treo Pro/850 to G35 w/navi?

Hi Everyone:

I've been trying to get one of the new WM6.1 phones and have found out that all newer HTC phones don't work with newer Nissan/Infiniti vehicles that have navi. They work fine for vehicles without navi.

One other alternative that I'm considering is the Palm Treo Pro aka 850. This is a new phone that is only available unlocked from retailers such as buy.com, palm, amazon, etc. Officially I think it's not compatible, but was wondering if any of you have tried it and can give feedback on what worked and what didn't.

thanks a lot

Ok, I got a Treo Pro and tried it, and it doesn't work. It has the same problem that all of the new HTC phones (Tilt, Diamond, Mogul, etc.) have with the person on the other end not hearing you, and you hearing a very garbled voice. The only way to sort it out is to select 'Use Handset', and then hit the Phone button again to connect, and hope that by then the person on the other side has not yet disconnected. Doing a little more research, it looks like the majority of the Treo Pro is made by HTC using HTC parts. Presumably this also includes the bluetooth module.

Anyway, I returned the Treo Pro... I wish our bluetooth system was better.

Cheers

This is really a huge bummer.... I wish someone would step up to the plate and release a fix/patch either for windows mobile 6, or the infiniti/nissan firmware.

I have the same problem with my HTC Mogul. Does anyone know if the new HTC phones have these issues too -- the diamond and touch pro?

Unfortunately all of the new HTC phones have the same problem. ie. The Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch Dual, Touch, Touch Cruize, etc. all don't work with any '07+ Nissan/Infiniti vehicle that has navi. I'm also extremely frustrated about this. I've spoken to Infiniti, HTC, and AT&T about it. AT&T basically said it's an Infiniti/HTC issue. HTC said that they were working on it, but don't expect any fix any time soon, and Infiniti said that they were working on it, and thought there would be a fix 'sometime'... So I'm not overly optimistic. If you don't mind, please could you call Infiniti Customer Service and HTC to register your dissatisfaction with this issue - the more people call in about this, the quicker the issue will be resolved (if it ever will).

Also by the way, HTC phones with the Bluetooth 1.2 stack work fine (ie. HTC Dash for example, and from what I've read this has something to do with the implementation of Bluetooth 2.0 version that HTC did, and the fact that the Bluetooth module on Navi based Nissan vehicles is actually completely different to the one that non-Navi based vehicles use.
