09 G37 - C/D Review

Accoridng to C/D the 09 G37 is not quicker but better. Thats half good news to all of us 07/08 owners. The 7 speed tranny and 3.7 liter engine from the coupe seems to add weight to the car. I dont think its any "better" as C/D puts it but check out the link for yourself.

That does make me feel a little better about my 08! Doesn't sound like any real difference worth worrying about. Also, alot of the modern 7-speed trannies seem to be programmed for fuel economy and shift too early creating a bogging effect unless you really get into it. Don't know if the G37 will do this, but I'm content with my 35!

A 7 speed auto with the same redline seems like it would suck for people who enjoy driving in ds mode where gears can be held for longer. I read that the lexus with the 8 speed auto i beleive was getting some bad reviews due to gear hunting. 7 speeds seems to much for an auto for those who may actually do some spirited driving since its not going to be holding the gears as long. PLus my 08 is faster in 0-60 and 1320 times. PLus with my mods which i noticed an immediate increase in power with, i feel confident in knowing some dumbass who pulls up to me with their new G37 sedan will not be a problem to shut up haha

As an owner of an 08 G35, I'm VERY GLAD Infiniti continues to advance their designs year after year. It just means, when I'm ready to buy my next car, Infiniti will 1) Still be around as a viable company since they try to stay ahead on the technology front and 2) the 2010+ G35 will be significantly better than my 08.
Why is there anything bad about that?
If you really want to see a car company that's going nowhere, check out Acura. They redesigned the TSX and it comes with virtually the same identical 200 hp 4 cylinder as the one that debuted over 5 yrs ago. The completely redesigned 2009 TL still has a 5 speed automatic!
Enjoy what you have and stop worrying about the latest and greatest thing over the horizon.

Well, for one thing, with a performance car, if the new model comes out and it's WAY better, your resale value is hurt.
Just look at the 04 GTO (350hp) vs. 05 (400hp).
Or an 01 Mustang Cobra (320hp) vs. 03 Cobra (390hp).
Plus, it does make you less happy with your car if the new one is way better.
Imagine how EVERYONE would feel if someone came out with a 2010 G35 that had 400hp, got 40mpg, and cost $35k. No one would want our cars.
