MSRP here in Canada is about 7% below that of the 08G35. I already have my quote from my dealer. For a few bucks more a month on a lease I am going with the G37.

I understand that Infiniti is trying to help dealers with a large surplus of 08s by giving them a bit more time, I seriously wish they would hurry the f**k up already. We got but like 15 G Sedans left in inventory and they ain't gonna last for too long. Guess we're one of the luckier stores in terms of not having too many leftover 08s, but at the same time, this decision to delay the launch of the 09s is beginning to annoy the crap out of me when I have a customer with cash in hand ready to pay full retail sticker for an '09 and all I can tell him is "we can't sell it to you yet."

I'm a 2008 G35xS owner that traded my 2006 A4 3.2 Quattro S-line (B7 chassis)...GO 2008 G35xS...No comparison and no, I haven't driven the 2009 A4 (B8) but I've looked it over good...looks way worse in person IMO...slab sided and dull...I pulled the G right up next to it...Despite the 4.6" gain in length and longer wheelbase, the new A4 is still very tight in the rear seat and the front seats suck...The G is a useable 4 person vehicle, the mileage is very close despite the 51 hp advantage of the G (over my 2006 A4)...My A4 had the true S-line suspension (lowered 0.8" and 30% stiff spring) - still understeered way more than my G...I've had the A4, a TL Type-S, etc and the G35xS is far and away the best car...I picked it over a MB C350 Sport and a 335xi...and I could have afforded both...Nothing touches the value...And although the new G37 sedan is "enticing"...no Sport package right away and really minimal changes for what will initially be a huge price difference...I'd GO 2008 G35xS all the way!

not sure where you are getting the "huge price difference" info. At least here in Canada there is almost no price difference , even from the deeply discounted 08s.

well to help Infiniti out, we just bought another crap load of 2008 G35x's b/c Infiniti needs to move them. so we got another 115 '08 G35 sedans in stock. The new news is the 2009's will slowly transition in -- only special ordered and sold units will arrive sooner but expect the bulk of '09's to be ready end of november. no biggie b/c everyone is coming in and taking the '08 G's right off the lot! people come in like there's no issue w/ wall street

kloss, also not sure where you are getting the "no sport package right away". Mine is in the depot and is coming by the end of next week.

G35x with Sport Pkg

I was talking on the 2009 x...It was reported that the initial 2009 G35x units would not have the $1,100 Sport Pkg (in 2008 prices) for the AWD units...Let me know if that is not the case. I'm aware the RWD would have the S version right off the bat...

You might be at the wrong Canadian dealer...because a 2008 G35xS buyer in QC (a business associate) just got OVER $10K off list on his (with Prem, Tech, etc - so more to work with for the dealer)...If not, just drive over to the States...even with 6% duty etc, still a deal (will save $1,500 to $2,000 CAD at least)...See my DRL post on a solid and inexpensive DRL conversion for 07-08 Gs as well...

2009 G35xS...2009 x available with the Sport Pkg right away or is it a future availability???? (like it ending up being on the 2008s - late Jan 08 for the $1,100 list Sport Pkg)...Thx

From another thread kloss:

I got my G37XS today (Edmonton, AB)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all, I just joined the forum after I parked my 2009 G37 XS in the garage. (black/black)

After seeing some posts from the forum, I was thinking really hard whether I should put my money down to preorder and wait who knows how long, or to buy a different car from following: IS250awd, 335xi, C350 4matic, etc.

And yesterday, I was just calling my local dealership (Ericksen Nissan/Infiniti) to ask when will they be getting their G37s, and they told me they got some cars in and today, I drove home my G37XS just now.

It came up CAD$55,000 cash for everything plus extra but I'm just happy to be driving the first G37 sedan in my city, well for a while.

Thanks Dennis Kim for a superb experience I've had today.

I actually went back to the garage to take some photos, but it's too dark even with the lights on, so I'll take some pics tomorrow.
For those who put their money down for the 2009 G37, your time will come so hang in there, it will be very worth it.

I formally apologize to my Canadian cohorts on this day of Canadian Thanksgiving as I should have gotten better info about the G37xS deliveries in the Great White North...

Of course, we will not see the G37 in the States until end of October at soonest as the Infiniti dealers try to purge their lots of the all the 2008 G35s (90% of which are G35xS units here in Buffalo)

I mentioned previously that a friend in Montreal bought a 2008 G35xS Prem/Tech/Nav (list $55K CAD) for $43K CAD in QC...He even checked Autoplace Infiniti in Buffalo and would have saved roughly $2K CAD after import fees, etc (wasn't worth the add'l logistics and confusion, however)

There are still deals out there for those not requiring the add'l power and features of the 2009 G37...

Good luck with the new G, snikt21...

thanks kloss.

well, I got the rates and I may be looking at one of those sweet 08 deals.

Lease rate is now over 6 and residual on a 4 year is about , well, almost 0.

Lease for the 08: 700 all in/month

Lease for the G37: 900 all in/month

Worth it ? I think not.

Only problem is there is not one G35XS Black/Black left in all of Canada !

I can get the non sport though. Any thoughts ?

Too bad no easier access to US dealers being in Ottawa as there are G35xS spewing off the dealers lots (about 15 or so G35xS with every combo of equipment and colour at the dealer down the road)...Also, the Loonie is getting hammered due to oil prices, so the shine is off the US G's for Canadian buyers...

I love my 2008 G35xS (already over 10k mi - 16,000 km) since March 10th delivery...I had a nice trade (2006 A4) and had the 1.9% finance promo going, so my monthly payment is nothing to speak of - and I put too many miles on all my cars to even consider leasing...I'm sure the residuals on either the 08 or 09 are good...it comes down to the few changes (besides the HP)...I like the S wheels on the 08s better but the 7 speed vs 5 speed is enticing (esp when you have a 08 V6 churning over 3000 rpm at 100 km/h - the 7 speed has the taller hwy gear - thus the better hwy mileage)...The other differences are outside mirror change, dial **** vs toggle for seat heaters and things like auto door locks when put in gear...

Right now you'd be looking at about $36K USD for a G35xS with Prem pkg and of course the Sport...IMO, the Sport pkg has too many GOOD options for the reasonable upcharge to go without...the seats alone are worth it but you throw in the body kit - including the much better looking Sport fascia and the paddle shifts and it's a no brainer...for a Canadian buyer, figure 6% duty plus $100 for DRL conversion and another $300 miscellaneous = $38,660 USD ($44.9K CAD)...

There's a G35xS at Alta Infiniti. I know because I was speaking to the sales manager on Saturday about my G37xS. However, the G35xS they have is a demo.
