Yup, black/black with the high technology package (only option available in Canada).

KLAB WAIT DONT BUY THE G35XS. The new g37 with 7speed auto and 328hp, and tighter steering ratio, did a big diff in 0-60 and handling tests. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...est/index.html
G35xs 0-60-5.6s, G37X, 0-60-5s flat. And the g37 gets better mpg city and highway. Just wait for the g37 it's the same results as a 47k bmw 335i in all tests

Oh wow you bought it? What were the miles on it? I think I actually drove that car back in August when I order my G37xS. I had never driven one before so I asked Matt if he had one I could take for a test drive. Don't worry, I didn't beat on it.

Good investigative work with Johnny E's assistance...I sure you'll enjoy the G35xS...Good timing on gas prices too...although since this was a demo, it'll be a little more broken in which will help the mpg...

A few tips that may be of use...Set the Auto Headlight Sensitivity in Comfort/Convenience to MOST sensitive as it still isn't all that sensitive...and don't forget to use the Driver Sound Stage setting in Audio...I think it makes a huge difference although some will argue it doesn't...

Hopefully, you'll get off to a better start than me - stone off the windshield at 900 miles ($913 and 2 weeks to get OEM replacement glass - had full glass fortunately on the insurance) and 10 gauge nail through the sidewall of a rear Dunlop at 8000 miles, which resulted in 2 new tires since I was already down 2/32" at a cost of $450 for both...

Other than those "mishaps" - I love the G so much I should marry it (as the wife says)...

P.S. To show you the difference - Autoplace Infiniti in Williamsville, NY STILL has 24 - 2008 G35s of which at least 15 are loaded xS models...Crazy!

thanks Kloss, and yes, Johny E "saved" me from getting an IS350. The RWD would have been a bitch in the winter.

This has been a long , strange trip , with a dealer here who ordered my G35XS Premium in Sept ( 700/month all in) then called back ten days later to say there were none left in all of Canada. She told me not worry and to wait for the G37 and for a "few dollars" more I would be driving the G. She called on Saturday and how about 900/month

Had driven the 328xi and hated it (seriously) and was going to test the IS350 when....Johny E made my day ( and the next 48 months ).

I will pick it up in Toronto next Thursday and have a 4.5 hour night drive back to Ottawa.

Any other tips for a new owner ?

Additional tips besides the obvious "Keep the shiny side up & the rubber side down"...????

When drag racing punks at stop lights, using the Sport mode (DS) WITHOUT trying to paddle shift will yield the quickest times...jam the go peddle to the floor & let the tranny do the work (doing this a lot MAY effect your gas mileage, however)

Get the Infiniti all weather mats...I got them for dealer cost $60 USD because they were scared I'd start negotiating again...I had already bought the car at dealer invoice and negotiated full Kelley Blue Book trade in on my Audi

For additional trunk room and to keep them out of the way - set the Owners Manual pouch against the side of the rear quarter panel and set the First Aid Kit pouch directly on top of it - makes it very compact - the velcro back holds both securely to the inside of the trunk wall.

Make use of the iPod interface vs using the CD changer - the iPod I/F is excellent....

I do my own oil changes and all non-warranty work, so I changed to full synthetic 5W30 at the first change (6000 km), do the second as recommended at 12000 km and them stick to Schedule II (changes every 12000 km)...I'm using Pennzoil Platinum - $19 USD for 5 qt jug at Wally*Mart - might be a little more at Crappy Tire.

I've been rotating tires in a modified AWD X pattern every 8000 km vs the 12000 km interval...From experience with my friend 2007 G35x, the G can be hard on tires...

Most of all - HAVE FUN WITH THE NEW G!
