Just a heads up on the rubberized part on the steering wheel.

If you have long nails, chop them off! Don't let any sharp/pointy objects touch the rubberized part on the steering wheel (right below the volume button) because it'll peel off.

I thought mine was just a spec of dust so I tried scraping it with my nail and it turned out to be the plastic that was already exposed... and took a bit more off lol. I was shocked to see how thin it was.

So yeah... watch out!

Thanks, mine after 20 months looked good. I only had problems withthe shift **** and the around the window switches. They are maybe some sort of silicon. They chip way too ease also.

What are you planning to do with it?

I still haven't found a fix. FWIW, "permanent marker" rubs off after a week.

Someone needs to find a flat black rubberized paint or something to touch it up. My inside door handles look terrible.

Try PlastiDip, I used it to paint the chrome piece between the tails on my old WRX. It spays on like spray paint but when it dries it is rubber and if you don't like it you can peel it back off.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it, maybe I'll try PlastiDip or just leave it alone.

I'm thinking about buying a new steeringwheel (starting to peel off because I usually grab only 1 place) along with paddle shifters but I'm sure it'll cost at least 400 if not 500+. They don't bother me that much since it's not that big. I'll just have to be more careful.

I'll try to take some pictures later tonight.

Same problem here... around the window controls and the rubber on the steering wheel. New for Infiniti is 250 for the rubber around the steering wheel and 50 for the rubber around the window contols. \

SUCKS!!!

They rubberized part around the window switches have been replaced with plastics for the 09+ G37 sedans. I'm going to try to replace mine with the newer one.

I'll try to get a hold of that part as soon as I can, but I doubt it will be available anytime soon as G37 hasn't even arrived at the dealers yet.

ok, now maybe this will sound stupid. I remember my 07 had that soft rubberish(silicon) feel around the window controller and steering wheel. I just drove my 08 today and wanted to close the door. I missed it a little and touched it with my nail. Right away nooooo. Checked it and did not chip at all. It feels different. This material feels more like plastic not rubberish. Is it possible Infiniti changed on us and we never realized it or I just remember wrong about my 07 and it was hard too?

Pic attached. It's definitely a soft material.

Sounds like a fix. I'd rather get this as long as it matches my interior. If not, an 07 replacement is like $20.

That's what I remebered. It was soft on my 07. Now on my 08 it is deffinitely hard plastic. Same with the steering wheel part. Not as hard as the dash but it is plastic not like silicon/rubber or whatever it was on my 07. Maybe Mike knows when they changed this. Mine was a late 08. Close to the few last ones.

There are few other changes to the 08 also.
