I need to know what the owner's manual states about the fuel requirement (as far as octane rating). I know what the G coupe states, and I know that it's probably the same, but I just need to verify it.

The coupe's manual states something like this: "Premium fuel required. If you do not have immediate access to premium fuel, you may use 89 octane unleaded gasoline but do not fill more than 1/4 tank of 89 octane. Immediately fill with premium unleaded as soon as possible." Or something close to that.

If anyone with a new sedan can check their owners manual and type out what the fuel requirements are (or if it's basically what I typed), I'd appreciate it.

The wording is verbatim. Same motor, same stipulations. Believe it or not, we here at the dealership have access to the '09 owners manual. Next time just ask. Not all salespeople are retarded you know. Most are though, I won't deny that. Unless someone higher up pushes real hard to get the '09 approved, you guys will be limited to the '08 and if you can find one, a used '07. Now hurry up and buy your damn '08 before someone figures out I've stashed it in the back.

I called yesterday and talked to Keoni (since you were off you slacker ). I'll be in Sat or Sun (wife got strep throat so gotta wait until she's better).

Besides, I asked you last time we talked but the manuals weren't in yet, remember? . I figured since some peeps got their 37's already, I'd ask.

Gimme a call tomorrow when you get in (still got my #?).

No rush. Wait till she's better. Sunday we get our G35 cruise but I'll be in tomorrow. Call me when your wife is feeling better and you ready for come down. I'll be in at 9. Also for future reference, asking Keoni technical questions will result in him staring at you like you asked him for the square root of something. Only guy I ever know who managed to lock himself INSIDE his G35.

As for the manuals, even if we no more the physical manuals, service always has an electronic copy ahead of time. Again, it wouldn't surprise me if Keoni didn't know this.

Smile G37 Sedan Fuel

Yes, I picked up my 2009 G35XS today and the fuel requirements as your coupe manual states.

Never ever use 87. My dealer delivered the '09 with 87. It's been knocking like crazy any time you hit the gas or do a low throttle start. I've been trying to drive around and burn it completely off. I have 100 miles to go!

wow... some dealers out there fail.

Why would they do that? The gas is reimbursed by NNA...
