2008 G35 shifts hard at high RPM while using sport shift

Has anyone had an issues when using the sport shift mode while changing from a lower gear to a higher gear at high RPM and receive feedback from the transmission that sounds like you are popping the clutch on a manual tranny.
The car does not surge forward, just hear the clunk.
Like a hard shift or something.
Shouldnt this be a smooth transition even at higher RPM's

Mine shifts pretty hard as well. But, I wouldn't say there is a "clunk". I believe that is the intent of the sport shift. No lag in between gears.

It's probably the 2-3 shift using the paddles at 3/4 throttle.

It's normal. Kinda the point of sport shift, but definitely not perfect.

doesnt the manual mode shift at 100% line pressure at WOT, so these quick hard shifts are normal?

That's normal.

A hard shift is actually better for the longevity of your tranny than a soft one; the soft one has to 'slip' to make it soft.

08 is a little softer then 07. You should still feel it when you shift at redline or just below redline.
