Its not a bad thing to have if you aren't good with cars and DIY. I am but it is nice to just drop my car off for a day and have them do all that work for you. You end up saving a little bit, especially since my 15,000 mile service was about $500.

The service tickets will tell you how much the service was and under "Amount owed" you'll just see a zero.

needed some clarification
you mean they would do the mile marker services for free if you are under the elite warranty or still under the original warranty?

its been a while since i drove a warranty car and i thought those mile marker services were related to wear and tear and the customer had to pay for them

just needed some clarification

Back when I was still an Infiniti employee, I believe I paid ~ $1873 for the 5yr/75k mile "Premium" Maintenance plan. Considering the cost to maintain my 08 G35 6MT at an Infiniti dealership over that period, I had no qualms.

For the extended warranty, the Extended Protection Plan (aka IEPP), paid aroud $1300 for 7yr/ 100k miles. Although these vehicles are extremely reliable, as I personally witnessed in my nearly 5 years of working for Infiniti, I do know that if something expensive breaks after the normal warranty period (i.e. laser-guided cruise control, navigation, active steering, etc.), it can be very expensive to fix at the dealer.

That said, I chose to purchase my Infiniti after having tested and thoroughly researching the competition. Again, these were the approximate "factory" prices for these extended contracts. Even if you end up paying an additional 10-15% for a decent dealer mark-up, I'd say the purchase is totally worthwhile if you plan on keeping your Infiniti for several years. As a plus, these plans are transferrable to subsequent owners.

1. 16 oil changes @30 bucks/per = 480
2. 1 auto trans flush = 250 ish (nissan dealership even cheaper, or DIY)
3. Rear diff fluid service = lets just say 150 bucks
4. 4 air filters @ 16 = 64
5. Coolant flush = i'm gonna guess and say 150-200
Total = approx 900 (i would say this is an upper limit)
That's all that should be even needed, granted most people just do oil changes and air filters up to 60k miles. So I would say do the pay as you go method, as anything else is covered under your warranty anyways.
hmmm not even the question he's asking man...

Warranty guys, not service maintenance plan.

I dunno, I think all of them are weird.

we already get 4 years bumper to bumper 0 deductable.

i mean up to 4 years costs you money? makes no sense.

7 years for 1500-2000? I dunno that's a judgement call. but all it takes is one claim past 4 years to get your money's worth

I bought the $600 tire/wheel protection plan... 20 minutes after having driving from the dealership, i blew a tire on a pothole and jacked the rim --

$250 for the tire mount/balance
$200 for the wheel repair/paint
-----
$450

And I got this coverage for 5 years, 60k miles -- i'd say it's worth it

I have the tire and wheel protection also. I'm lucky have never needed it yet. Although If I go with a new G don't know if I'm going to buy it again.

Is an Extended Warranty offered on Lease to Purchase?

Like so many auto companies, if you buy a CPO vehicle : Audi, Honda, Lexus, etc, they offer a 3 year / 36k warranty. I'm sure it's built into the price. Has any of you "G" guys purchased an extended warranty on a CPO basis or in my case, I'm thinking that I may buy my G Oct 2010 when the lease is over. With 18.5k miles after 2 years (new job allows me to take a train) I'll have maybe 30k miles on the clock. of course, it will depend on the $$$$ price - it will need to be negotiable from the set residual price in the lease..

Can anyone confirm if the Elite Extended Protection Plan is refundable? If so, during what period can you cancel and how much $$$ do you get back?

the extended protection can be refunded as a pro-ration of the time covered.

as with any warranty you pay for in full and if necc get refunded as a function of the time coverage it was in affect.

I did this about 3 weeks ago, and got whatever 74 of 84 months % of the purchase price was.

reality is the price isn't that much different after the initial 4 years. i mean if you feel you want piece of mind loop it into your loan at a reasonable price. 1600 bucks for 7 years isn't unreasonable just make sure it's a zero deductible. if they try to sell you anything less just walk from the dealership cause that's shady to have a deductible on a "warranty."

oh also if you do consider getting the warranty you can get it any time. you should be able to 0% finance for the life of the coverage it if you actually want it. any piece of those packages will probably cost you 2000 to fix, so i mean consider all your options.

I got my Elite Extended Warranty just a few days before my factory warranty expired. It cost me ~$1200 for 4 yrs 48k miles. Within a couple of weeks my wheel bearing went bad, my caliper froze and my axles started clicking.

All the repairs were taken care of and it would have cost me much more than the warranty plan did. I hope I won't have to use it again, but if I do I'm still covered for another 3.5 years.

Any warranty that you have to purchase, should be called what it is, Insurance.
Your simple betting that your car is going to break down and cost more to repair than than the Insurance policy cost. The dealership is betting you won't have a claim. IMO, an extra 10K miles doesn't seem like it's worth it. On the other hand, 7yrs/100K miles maybe, but only with a zero deductible.

I just got the Elite and it was 7/100k and includes the Tech package and towing from anywhere to Infiniti then to your house, and I paid 1900 for it. It has a 0 deductible.

can we purchase this warranty from an out of state dealership by playing one against another since it is provided by Infiniti? Will this be honored at the dealership close to home?
