It should be honored every where. Keep in mind when your negotiating with the F&I guy that they usually have a 50% profit margin on the extended packages. I got mine for $1900 but they reduced my interest rate from 4.9 to 3.9 and I know they need to make money somewhere. I figured since the gave me $500 over trade value for my trade I wouldn't push too hard on the warranty price.

I am confused by differing information in this thread.

So, if I want a warranty for only 3 years beyond the factory warranty for 4 years, I will need to purchase a 7 year warranty?

I got a bumper to bumper 100K 4 years for 1385.00 with a 100.00 deductible although it is not through infiniti it was recommended to me through my credit union and they stand behind them. i can also take my car to any infiniti dealership. Intercontinental Warranty Services.

That's what I'm a bit confused about as well. I have a 2008 G35X, in service 3/08 with roughly 16K miles on it. I've been told the following:

1) For a 6 year/82K mile warranty, $1804
2) It's an additional 6 years OR 82K miles on top of the age/mileage on the vehicle at the time of the purchase of the warranty.

So based on 2), if I had say 17K miles on the vehicle and purchased at my 2nd year anniversary of owning the vehicle, I'd have total coverage for 8 years OR 99K miles??? This would mean I have better coverage than the 7 year/100K mile warranty available at the time of the purchase of the car.. Doesn't make sense to me.

Dumb question. Can you still ask for a refund if you have claimed service against the insurance? I am not sure if I want to keep the insurance if nothing much goes wrong but don't want to lose the option to refund if I get some minor stuff done in the beginning.

Also, how much discount can you negotiate for? I might buy online from Infiniti of Scottsdale -> http://www.infinitiwarranty.com/?gcl...FR9aiAodcQmyyg

I agree with the comments that say these products are very reliable, I'd pass. Just another way for the dealer to get your money up front.

According to my extended LDS plan those things would be covered. I bought a 120K bumper to bumper plan for 1900.00
General maintenance stuff is not covered (unless its a part that failed by mfg); ties, blades, fluids, sealed beams, belts, brakes pads, rotors, body parts / trim from dents, scratches etc. It also covers some $$ for road side assistance, motel cost etc.
Pretty much everything else is covered. I look at it as it covers all your "big ticket items". This is the first extended warranty I ever bought. I heard how nice these vehicles are but the cost for repair is HIGH!

Cool

I added one to my 07 that I just purchased in Feb.

Negiotated Elite plan - $0 deductible, 7yr, 100K miles which gives me until 2/2014 and 85K more miles - for $1,095.00.

Seemed like ceap insurance.

Have almost 66k on my 07 and the only services I have paid for were flushing the antifreeze at 50k and updating the nav. The car has never broken, even under warranty, now expired. If I were a betting man, I would say maintain the car as required and don't take the warranty.

^this.

Always haggle the price of the warranty. I got mine to around that much AND they dropped my monthly apr 1%. It already paid for itself when I brought my car in last time. I added up the cost of all the items they replaced or repaired and it came close to what I paid for the warranty. This included the replacement of my steeringwheel, sway bar endlinks, oil and coolant seals, as well as a worn wheel bearing. The steeringwheel by itself is $700+ at cost, $938 if I had to pay for it out of pocket so it's well worth it. Things do get covered if you ask nicely and having no deductible is a moneysaver.

Go to your CREDIT UNION if you are looking for an extended warranty!

Extended warranties are not factory warranties I do not care what the dealer says about who this warranty company is. Just make sure the Insurance Provider who is backin the warranty has been around for a while and who go belly up overnight-otherwise there will be no one to pay your claim.

Pricing-You wont beat your warranty.

I can get 36Months/36K Miles coverage for $1000 now and I have a 2003 w/ 65K miles.

that 36K miles of coverage means that im coverege to 101K.

Actually, you are incorrect. Not ALL extended warranties are non-factory warranties. The Infiniti and BMW extended warranties that are offered are directly from the manufacturer/factory and provide mostly the same coverage you had with the bumper to bumper with exception to cosmetic defects on the Infinitis.
I used to think the same way as you about extended warranties, but if you do some actual research, you'll find that what you think is not always the case..
