G37 vs TL SH-AWD Insideline

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...hotopanel..1.*

1. G37 2. TL

The SH-AWD model is no quicker than the FWD TL. Gotta say the TL interior is pretty nice.

i sat in the new TL and they did a great job w/ it except the seats are very stiff and uncomfortable.

the TL 15 second quarter mile doesn't seem right at all

wow corvettekid you've been MIA. I still have the same cell # so give me a call. and I have a few '09 G37x's so come in and drive it for yourself. Just sold a few more this weekend and the '09 FX35's are fun to drive.

I'd love to see a 6MT vs 6MT comparison, since the G so handily "lost" in the recent SH-AWD 6MT vs the 08 6MT sedan.

YES I knew I wasn't the only one.

I would think the SH-AWD is pretty good for making the TL as fast as it is. However, that car is just way too ugly. There's no way to get around that.

Technically, starting in 2008, the G35 Sport with the AT, became the Journey with the Sport Package...although you still get the red S badging. The run of the mill G35 Sport is available in manual only.

In the grand scheme of things, its just some changes into how Infiniti declares trim levels.

The AWD Acura TL will never be considered a true sports sedan in my opinion. It’s still a FWD biased sedan with 60/40 weight balance and transverse mounted motor.

For $43K, I’ll take a G37 or 335i over a fancy AWD Honda Accord in disguise. And what were they thinking with that horrible new front end look? What was wrong with the old TL look? The 2008 TL Type-S looked hot.

IMO, the whole entire Acura line up looks like garbage (minus the MDX). I guess it's something to do with that "beak" grille.
It also would be interesting if they would do a G37 sport sedan vs TL SH-AWD Type S (if Acura is actually going to release it)

I looked at the AWD TL yesterday, OMG it was UGLY!!! After owning 3 TLs I think my Acura days are over. The interior however is very nice on the new TL.

Exactly. I hate how all magazines and such classify the TL as a sports sedan. The 2008 TL-S was the best looking, but was not a ture sport sedan IMO. The new TL still comes with FWD. Yeah it has AWD, but like you said a FWD biased system. Ture sport sedans dont have torque steer and nose heavy front ends, sorry Acura. Try again next time on developing a RWD 50/50 weight distributed chassis like mostly all of your competitors have for many years now.

G35/7 > TL, always has and always will.
