Roof Racks

So I went to get a roof rack for the wife's 07 G35x for the snowboards this winter. Since you can't fit anything through that poor excuse for a passthrough in the back seat! To my surprise you can't get one. Thule and Yakima made one but recently pulled them. Apparently the lip on the car isn't strong enough! In other words they must be wrecking people's cars or flying off. This is pretty disappointing to me. Love the car but what good is the AWD and winter tires if I can't even get the gear to the Hill!

Driving around with more traction and safety during the winter...?

Lol I'm just pulling your leg , you should PM one of the guys at Riverside Infiniti and see if they know of a solution or at least why roof racks don't work.
I doubt the sides aren't strong enough since roof racks (even with a snowboard or 2) really aren't THAT heavy, the sides should be able to handle the weight of a roof rack.
Good luck with it

P.S. I envy you, I miss going up to Whistler Mountain for weekend snowboarding trips

Whistler FTW! But I bike don't board or ski very often. I think there was a thread with some guys making a hidden hitch that was impossibly to see unless you look under the car. Search that, then once you have a hitch, just pick up a rack that carries boards

Whistler is better for summer! I too love it for biking. For boarding we just stay here and hit Big white. As far as the hitch I won't bother. I use my f-350 most of the time but just wanted the choice. Since it is no longer cheap or easy I won't bother. But thanks for the ideas.

I'd be a little leary of the roof rack. If two major companies pulled them from production there must be a reason!
