need some performance advice

Living here in the mountains and 4,500ft. above sea level, I notice that my 2008 G35x sedan doesn't perform well compared to when I'm down in southern Cali. There seems to be a lag issue. I understand that at sea level, there is more air for the vehicle to breath and that is why my car seems to perform better down there.

Is there anything I can do (not too drastic or expensive) that will help alleviate some of this sluggishness, and make it perform close or equal to as if it were at sea level?

Barometric pressure is the problem. Your ECU is compensating for the lack of it by reducing the mixture, thus less power. No, not a lot you can do. Try some breathing mods (pop charger, CAI). If that doesn't work, it's FI.

Boost will make a big difference but go turbo not supercharger! Stay away from supercharger kits up at that altitude. Supercharger kits build a set amount of boost at sea level and a lot less at that altitude. You would have to do some sort of a custom pulley setup to get more boost up there. I had a stillen supercharger that would build ~8.5psi in Phoenix (1100ft) and ~5psi in Prescott (5300ft). My TT kit makes the same boost no matter where I am at.

So it looks like I'm screwed unless I'm willing to fork up some major cash for upgrades or move to sea level?

it would be cool if you dropped the M45 8-cylinder in your sedan

The good news is that all other N/A cars up there have the same problem so you are all equally slower.
