Infiniti Music Box

does anybody use this?

I was playing with it yesterday and it takes forever to copy music...

it seems that the best route is either XM or MP3 player / CF Card

it copies at 4x, and you don't have to be listening to record.

I love my music box.
It records an entire CD before the fourth track is done playing, or you can listen to XM while it's recording.
A little indicator on the screen lets you know when it's done.

No complaints here

I love it but wish you could save certain tracks instead of having to copy the whole cd then go back and delete everything you dont want.

I record only the songs I want on a CD-RW and copy to the Music box and erase the disc and re-record again with my list... I never like all songs in an album so I felt this is the best way

When you use the CD-RW for specific tracks, does the Music Box identify the songs/tracks?

I will make sure the songs I'm recording on the CD-RW will have all the info such as the artist, album, song etc., basically the CD text needs to be input if not already existing on the song...the music box only identifies the pre recorded CDs not much use for the CD-RW.

Works fine for me. I ripped all of my old CDs to Music Box over the period of several weeks while driving to/from work. All of my newer music is in mp3 format, so I usually use Compact Flash cards or mp3 player for that.

The only thing I don't like about Music Box is that you can't use "Search" while the car is moving, as this function is grayed out unless the car is stopped.

OK, I'll be honest...

...I seem to recall hearing about Music Box, but never read the manual. Is this a hard drive in the G? How many MB? To record a CD, what are the steps to follow? Or, how do I access the Music Box? When I scroll through the source toggle on the steering wheel, I don't get a music box option.

Thanks for helping me out!

I love the MB. I've found it easier to use than the CF card. I keep it on "Artist Search" in the menu and then you can use the right audio know to change artists very quickly.

As far as the questions above, it's 9.3GB of space on the hard drive. You have to have the nav package in the 08 to have it. It records at a quality up to 132kps. If you hit the "DISC/AUX" button to cycle through you come to MB. If you insert a disc into the front loader, it should prompt if you want to record.

I have about 20 cd's and have used less than 25% of the space.

Yes, there is. While in Music Box, just press the SCAN/RPT button on the head unit until All Playlists tag appears on the screen.

How does the Gracenote album ID work? How does it keep up to date and recognize new albums? The other problem I have is that it didn't recognize a retail CD I put in--can I manually write in the name of the song/album/artist?
