i get a solid 20/25 with sane driving average of 22.6 with highway(60) and city(40) mixed.

And under "spirited" driving(just fast acceleration) 18/22

When WOT, then ....

Ever heard an NSX at full wail? The VQ doesn't come remotely close.

What's sad is Nissan has had DI VQs and turbo VQs overseas since the late 90s. I guess they haven't brought the technology here yet because fuel prices were so low and because their standard VQ was outperforming everyone else so easily.

No way does that Cadillac motor belong in there and our VQ doesn't... And those diesel motors are just in there to promote new cleaner diesel efficiency in the market...
That GM 3.6L is a far far more efficient motor than our VQ35/37.

Yes, it makes slightly less power than a VQ35. Yes, it consumes significantly less fuel.

Is it reliable? We've yet to see, but it is just as VERSATILE as the VQ as well, which is the primary reason the VQ has been on the list that long to begin with.

And, it makes its HP/TQ rating on regular gas, not premium

Doesnt Wards usually post up the runners up and why they didnt make the list? Just curious to see Wards reasoning, which Im sure is fuel efficiency. May be too early since the list just came out yesterday.

The "official" one isn't out yet. Everything is posted on news sites.

this is the basis for the new list, and let's face it... The VQ is a killer motor but not the most efficient in it's class, our 335 gets 22/27 and my G can barely break 18/23.5
Yeah screw engineering prowess, the fanboi method is a far more efficient way of judging motors. Heaven forbid someone ever try to introduce more efficient and alternative forms of energy to the market

Amended Ward's Top 10 List:
Every engine created by Nissan

Get a life fanboi.

Ironic BMW's TT I6 is on there. I remember back when BMW refused to use FI as it was a "low-tech" way of making power.

They're trying to pick more envirosnob motors. I've driven the new TDI, it needs to make the list just on the merits of its motor mounts, because you don't feel the motor in the car, but when you open the hood, the thing looks like its having a seizure in the engine bay. I'll be interested to see if they start puking water pumps before 100k like the previous model also.
