Found this on autoblog, our VQ engines did not make it in the top ten, like it did the last 12 years!!!

The new G's still have a VQ series engine.

VQ35DE = 2003-2006 G sedans/coupes
VQ35HR = 2007+ G35 sedans
VQ37VHR = G37 coupes/sedans

That's disappointing. I thought for sure with the 3.7L they would still have a place on the list. I think direct injection is so popular that without it, an engine isn't modern enough.

its sad to not see it on the list. Nonetheless, the VQ is still a remarkable engine. For being on the list from 1995-2007, its an achievement. The VQ37VHR was on the list last year, and nothing really has changed except the 7AT powertrain. I think Wards was scoring heavily on efficiency, which isnt the VQs stong point, which was a result of not making the list. The VQ needs DI badly.

Lol, I still think our engines are one of the best sounding V6s, around though.

+1, I think it's second best after the VW R32. That imo is the best sounding V6.

I think that's exactly the problem is. Competitors have changed their engines and Nissan did not. Hope this awaking Nissan to do something about it.

Big F*ck Yea:

BMW AG: 3.0L turbocharged DOHC I-6

Big F*ck No:

Ford Motor Co.: 2.5L DOHC I-4 HEV (Escape Hybrid)
General Motors Corp.: 3.6L DOHC V-6 (Cadillac CTS)

And a who gives a F*ck:

Honda Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.5L SOHC V-6 (Accord Coupe)
Chrysler LLC: 5.7L Hemi OHV V-8 (Dodge Ram/Challenger R/T)

No way does that Cadillac motor belong in there and our VQ doesn't... And those diesel motors are just in there to promote new cleaner diesel efficiency in the market...

"The diesels from VW and BMW and the Ford Escape Hybrid all got better than 30 mpg (7.8 L/100 km) during our testing, and often they topped 40 mpg (5.8 L/100 km)," he says. "And the diesels meet the strictest emissions regulations in the world. If Americans want to find a vehicle that consumes less fuel and is fun to drive, our list is a great place to start."
this is the basis for the new list, and let's face it... The VQ is a killer motor but not the most efficient in it's class, our 335 gets 22/27 and my G can barely break 18/23.5
