if the tire was low on air there should be worn spots on the tire from where the rubber was pinched in between the rim and the road.

Michelin wouldn't offer a new TIRE!!! never mind the payment for the damages. At least COSTCO delivered and that was done WITHOUT question. Excellent service.

Michelin offering you a new tire could hint an acknowledgement of thgeir "wrong-doing"

absolutely...
at the very least, this will let them know of a pential problem...
I'd imagine they would offer replacements... I'd ask for a new set of 4 btw.
