Does anyone know if an arm rest attachment is available for the G35S sedan? I'm used to driving cars with arm rests high enough for me to rest my arm and the one in this car is too low to do that. One in the G35X is perfect but not for the S.

 

Why not just lower the seat? Im 6'2 and havent had any problems finding a comfortable level to rest my arm. Unless you're like 7ft tall or something haha

 

The MT S has a lower arm rest than the AT S. I think it's kinda stupid. I wonder if you could just purchase the arm rest made for the AT S and swap them.

I'm glad you know what I'm talking about, Nissan must've thought we would be too busy driving on the track or shifting all the times that they rendered that piece useless. I've driven the Xs, their armrest is mounted about half a foot taller and extends forward more. I thought about replacing it with the X parts but that'd mean I'd need to replace the whole center console. Being the X console is much wider and it's not designed to sit over the manual gear box, don't think it'll work. Unless the arm rest and the mounts can be replaced by themselves. Years ago my brother had a 200SX SER that didn't come with an arm rest at all, it was just a hole there he was able to by an arm rest with an attachment that sits over the hole.

It's pretty cheezy but I'm sure there is a better solution.

 

What the heck is going on here? Do mean to tell me that my G35 brothers and sisters don't have their hands at 10 and 2 o'clock at all times? I am dissapointed in all of you...kidding.

The reason is functional, for using the shifter.

i came from a Maxima SE 6sp and that armrest is functional, you can lower it when it's not needed or lift it up to the high position for the needed support. did not have any problem shifting with that set up. I've seen other functional armrests such as in the Bimmer 335i MT. This to me is a lack of respect for someone who cruises on the highway most of times.

 

10 o'clock and 2 o'clock guys...10 and 2... i honestly thought that the padding on the armrest was only for cosmetics. never used it.

Joking aside, I used to use that armrest all the time but now I get worried I'll wear down the leather much quicker on that center console so I've been making a conscious effort not to rest it on there anymore.

 

If the your concern is so big just sell the car and buy another brand with more comfortable armrest.

Why are you guys giving the op such a hard time on this!?! Do you commentators even have the 6MT? The armrest in the 6MT sucks; no two ways about it. After two years I am used to it, but the design is really poor. Almost as if it were an afterthought.

 

I hate to beat a dead horse but the truth is had I noticed this during the test drive I would not have bought it so call me what ever. Now the padding on the driver door IS functional for a 4 and 8 o'clock guy. I can see some short people won't be able to rest their elbows on either side either their seats are too far up or their elbows simply can't reach the paddings.

That's totally cool. I wasn't really directing my comment toward you anyway as your statment of opinion was not trashing the op at all. Some of the others were really trashing him for even bringing it up. I for one would appreciate if an aftermarket or modified version were available.
