12 days
I'll be away on vacay (hawaii baby!) for 12 days, and don't wanna give my keys to my friends, or even parents. Not that I don't trust them, just don't trust their driving ![Icon11](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/icon11.gif)
Will I have any trouble w/ the car if I let it sit untouched for 12 days? It'll be in an semi-open parking garage (protected from rain/snow, but not the cold). I'm in NYC btw, and temps figure to be in the 20-40 deg range... besides topping off the gas tank, any other precautions I should take? TIA!

Your car will be fine. I have had my cars sit at the airport for four weeks and they started right up. Now with the cold weather in your area, you might want to make sure the battery is fully charged before you take off for the airport. I have three battery tenders in my garage that I use once a week on all cars. If you don't keep up, it might take a battery tender three four days to charge your battery the first time you use it. If the batt is tops it takes only a night for the green light to come on.

a dead battery is not ur problem,
its a dead bat in freezing temps, when the battery dies, the acid in the bat turns back to water, which will freeze and crack the lead plates in the bat.
(bat has to be above 99.9% dead for this to happen)
that is the worst case, unless a tree falls on it
just park it, lock it. and enjoy ur vaca.
you have insurance. and ur bat WILL NOT die in 10 days. a good bat takes on the order of 2 months to die,
id be more worried about what kind of drink im gonna order on the beach as apposed to ur G back at home
