Actually, I responded to both aspects of handling and performance in both stock and modified form. I don't see reference to any youtube videos since the "revival" of this thread. Stock vs. Stock a G37 will handles equal if not slightly better than the G8 GT. The GXP handles slightly better than the G37. However, these cars are completely different and most people wouldn't even cross shop them. I guess you can't cross shop them again until the G8 is brought back under the Chevy name next year.

Gotcha. That response is comletely incorrect. When I traded in my G for the G8 I immediately had buyers remorse. The G8's torque is obviously superior, but the cars in general were so close performance wise. The real concern was the quality of the materials or the lackthereof in the G8 in comparison. The G was much more refined. With 3 children however, I had wanted a large sedan and there weren't many options. Sorry, this is way off topic and too old to even matter.

I cross shopped the G8 with the G and ultimately chose the G. The availability of AWD and a nicer interior were the biggest selling points for the G. With the G8, I liked the roominess and the low-end torque was addictive. I thought both cars handled well with an edge to the G, IMO.
