Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor Option

So how helpful do you think this option for the Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor (A93) is? Does it act like a proximity sensor inside the cabin and a tilt sensor everywhere else? And can it be installed afterwards or does it have to be ordered with the car?

Same goes for the Illuminated Kick Plates (P94), it can be purchased and installed afterwards correct?

I am pretty sure both can be ordered and installed later. I was told this when I got my car this week.

Definitely not a proximity sensor. It senses impacts. I am not sure if it will be able to detect tilts. But I would get it if you are thinking about getting nice wheels.

The illuminated kick plates can be purchased and installed afterwards. Check with Rick@RiversideInfiniti for pricing.

Its worth noting that its cheaper to have buy the vehicle with accessories than add them later as you end up paying for additional parts and labor since the vehicle already has parts installed. Of course, if you already own the car...the this note is a mute point.

^Thanks for the heads up. I basically wanted to know if these were dealer installed or factory installed options. Around the mid-atlantic area, it's hard right now to source a RWD G37 Sedan with nav, prem and sports package. All of them are G37x or lacks the sports package. If I were to find one, I know it's easy just to get the impact sensor installed before delivery.

The impact sensor is not an aftersale option at this time. The illuminated door sills can be installed. Some vehicles have pre-wiring, while other do not. Regardless of the pre-wiring status, its not a big deal to install

My understanding is that if you can find one that it can be retro fitted into a car at the hood.

In any case I would not think you have to get this sensor, I think just about any sensor that provides a switch closure can be connected into the same point for the hood.
