How to tell between the packages.
How to tell between the packages.
Hi. I am considering a purchasing either an 07-08 G35 and was just wondering if there is a way to tell between the the packages (premium, sport, journey, etc)? Could this be done through the VIN?
Sport has different facia, side skirts, larger brakes, and white stiching on the seats. Journey has standard facia, rocker panels are not flared, seat are a solid color. Premium is a package that includes seat presets, moonroof, Bose stereo, etc.
Premium is offer on the Sport and Journey. Sport said G35S, G35X is AWD, G35 is 2WD Journey. Other ways to tell, but those are the basics.
For the 07 model year, if the car has the back-up camera than it definitely has the Premium, Navigation and Technology packages. For the 08 model year, if it has the back-up camera, it has the Premium and Navigation packages (and possibly Tech).

First post here, but need some help with the above differentiations please.
Could someone help me find the differences between what all was included in the Premium Package, as well as the detail differences the Journey model added on to base in 2007? I guess from a point of reference of what is on the '09s would be perfect.
Also, similar to above, how can I identify the Journey model from the base with confidence? Especially by phone.....
I'm in the fortunate/unfortunate position of looking for an '07 after my daughter totaled my pristine loaded '03, and appreciate your help. Used to be active on the "other" old board that was the home to lots of G35 enthusiasts, but was surprised to find if virtually dead. Looks like much of the action and especially some of the sponsors moved here, so I bet this is where the brain trust is now too!
As an aside, if you've got leads on a low-mileage '07 Journey in Lakeshore, Blue Slate or red with premium and Nav, shoot me a message please!

Most simple way to tell if you have the premium package is to check if you you have 4 "A's" (for automatic) on the driver-side window control. Another simple way to check for the premium package is to check if you see a "bose" marked speaker on the rear decklid (behind the rear seat). This indicates that you have the "studio on wheels" package, which is included in the premium package.
By the way, one of the main advantages of the sport package (to me) is you get the LSD transmission, and the option to have a 6-speed manual gearbox.
