Big problem...lost lug nut key
i was cleaning out my trunk...and i dont know why but i got a hunch to make sure my lug nut key was where i thought it should be....but to no avail....its not. I searched and searched but cannot find it for the life of me. I purchased my wheels from a vendor on here almost a year ago but i have no way of finding out what key i would need. Any suggestions?? Could i try one of those gator grip sockets to see if it will bite to get them off??

This is what the lug looks like. I found this on one of the vendor classifieds. I also sent a pm to the guy i purchased the wheels from to see if this is the set he offers when he ships out his wheel and tire packages
You could probably take it to your local Discount Tire or Big O or whatever and they will get all those lugs off in 15 minutes or less. It will probably permanently damage the nut. They will either use a chisel (risky) or a special reverse cut socket which has groves that bite into the nut. You can also buy this at Sears if you want to try removing them yourself. I have heard stories about shops removing those special nuts in 10 seconds.
Anyway, make sure to ask them if there removal tool will damage the wheel before letting them touch anything.
Oh yeah, try looking for the box that the nuts came in for a phone number to order new keys. You probably already looked but I figured I'd mention it anyway.

Go to Discount if you need it off fast. They have keys for pretty much anything, they took mine off with relative ease (i locked the lug key in the trunk). The second time around i gave it to them, but they lost it, they gave me a replacement on the spot.
