I totally feel you on that one. When I had my Civic, I had to take the front bumper off to oil my AEM CAI it was a pain. Now that I think about it, I don't know if I want to deal with that either! But I did the sound LOL!

Slim chance you'll lose any HP with the G. Anything is less restrictive than the stock intake tube. Even if you pulled that out and put in a Z tube and a pop charger it sounds mean and would probably give you 1 or 2 horsepower but who cares because it was sound awesome! (guessing you don't have a Z tube by your sig)

Nothing wrong with oiled filters, they do a great job and after you get the hang of them they are pretty easy to clean and re oil.

I am amazed you have done so many bad *** mods but haven't touched the intake at all. Good luck with your mods, do you have any pictures of your car on the forum? it sounds pretty sick.

i shared the same sentiments, I was after the sound. Since I wanted that sound, I went with exhaust. Thats the sound that you really want. If you had intakes and exhaust, chances are, you'll be hearing the exhaust a lot more than the intakes. I think the exhaust note will drown out the intakes, unless your flooring it.

Apparently some guys have done dynos and reflashed their ECU's, and in the process, they learned that putting the original stock intakes actually was better than having the intakes. Now im not saying this applies to all intakes, but that was one of the findings.

Nothing wrong oiled filters. I agree. I just dont want to deal with them. Call me lazy..hehe Also, I dont want someone cleaning it incorrectly or oiling it too much that my MAF/Engine gets screwed up (im a paranoid kinda person...haha)

I guess another reason why I dont want intakes is cuz I dont wanna make my car any louder than it already is.

Do a quick search for the threads I started to check some pics I posted. But here are some recent ones that I have done:

Thanks :P Let me know what you think.

Wow really? haha thanks man.

I feel like my car is nowhere near some of the guys here... lots of SICK G's out here...its crazy. If only I had the cash to fund my mod addiction. lol

Im looking into getting a drop to finish the look. Quite the process...many different things to consider. Also, with our bad winters here... i dont want an aggressive drop. I want a milder drop.

I think maybe I am just warming up to the 07s now and a modded one makes me smile.

A drop on H-techs would probably be pretty awesome.

We'll move this discussion over to one of your threads though not to hi jack this guys!

Once I'm through this ridiculous Physics midterm tomorrow I plan on getting out and taking a better video of the takeoff, I'll just keep going instead of stopping midway through second gear. It'll get a better idea of the sound pulling away - I also want to get a better sounding video of a fly by, accelerating from like 20ish. And probably another in car really accelerating hard - I love the growl in the midrange.

And of course, It'll be done in a controlled, closed course

I've been highly considering the Stillen Gen 3. I ended up going all out for the exhaust first instead though. I NEED to hold off a little while before ordering intakes, i told myself I'd wait!

No worries! Brought up a good point - what's the deal with the filters on the stillen gen 3?

Are they gonna be a pain in the a$$ to clean or what? Any insights?

I dont know about the cleaning but I thnk its also an oiled filter type.

You also need to make a minor modification when installing. Something about making one of the holes bigger to fit the screw in properly? Something like that...

Also some guys were concerned about the placement of the intakes cuz if its raining hard or something, water may "potentially" enter through the intakes.

Do these oiled intakes take a long time to clean or what? What's special about them and can you just replace them like normal filters?

Yeah you have to cut through the plastic piece around the radiator to fit the tubes through I believe.

Hmm... Usually people only worry about then if the intakes are mounted with the filters down low, the Gen 3 puts them right in front of the grille.

Oh well - I'll just keep looking for my G37 wheels
I saw a white 350Z with them tonight....interesting, but I didn't really like it

the exhaust sounds good...sounds a lot better than the stillen one i heard....which actually made me HATE stillen...sounded too ricey

I like the JDM tails...i really dont understand why they didnt bring it to the US? it woulda been more cost efficiant to just make ONE kind of tail lights. it also wouldnt have hurt to make the blinkers LED's as well
