click click whir rattle -- huhhh???? Low-budget wha?? LOL Thanks, the OP gave me a good laugh this evening.

My wife's '08 G35x and my '09 G37xS start up the same dang way, brutha... I drive these cars back to back on a daily basis, the G37 just sounds a little more aggressive when starting up... I have no idea what was wrong with the 3 loaners you drove.

Glad you justified your purchase, now you can sleep at night! Cheers

I used to work at an inifiniti Dealership and i was on the fence about buying a used 07-08, or taking the plunge on the 09. Coming from a S14, and Z33, i Didn't want to sacrifice alot of performance, but felt AWD was necessary. So i ended up with the 09 G37xS(first year for xS for Canada). The biggest push for me was the 3.7 Motor, the 7-speed Auto(which is almost TOO intuitive) and the fact i got $4000 off sticker and 1.5% off of promotional APR. The awesome sport seats and paddle shifters are a huge bonus.

and PeterUbers is right, the 37's seem to have a "little" more grunt overall, but the sedan needs the sporty exhaust note the coupes (and my Z) get.

All in all, 07,08,09, even the V35's, all the G's are pretty damn nice

I am most certainly moving to the G37 once my lease on my 08 G35X expires next year. The car is most certainly an upgrade from the 2nd Gen G35s, for me the differences will not be HUGE but its highly unlikely my G35 is in any way shape or form better than the G37.

If wishes were horses (oops I have 306 of them ) I would hope for the DI in the 2010 model, but this is highely unlikely.

DI = Direct Injection i'm assuming?

For North America? a good possibility for a 2012 redesign (V37). But definetly no sooner.

in japan the "skyline" (not GT-R) has Had Direct injection, nicknamed (NEO-Di). This system comes in both the VQ25DD and VQ30DD options for the Japanese 'G', yes, they get 3 engine choices there

fyi. VQ25/30DD = DOHC & DirectInjection
our VQ35/37DE = DOHC & EFI (HR is the same, but high-rev or high-response)

I noticed on their site the other day that they get the 2.5l engine over there, but I hope they never bring it here. I like the line of no nonsense engines Infiniti has available in the US.

Well my take is since the M37 for 2010 is likely going to be available with the DI, its very likely that the Gs will move to DI in either 2010 (slim chance of this happening though) or the 2011 MY. Just my uneducated guess here. Lets wait & see

hmm, i have an 09 G37 too, but it doesn't quite take THAT long to crank.

PeterUbers can probably set me straight considering he has both at his disposal, but it seems the 37's do take a little longer to crank, and they initially (for a short short period) rev a little higher...am i on crack?

306HP - Yea, i too like infiniti's no BS mindset of "You buy a G, you get the Big Motor". No doubt, a VQ25(G25)would be an interesting Take in North America, and give the IS250 and TSX a tougher time, but in contrast, could take away the perceived "value" from the Big Boy G37.

I took a curious Look at an IS250/350, you seriously Don't get alot of features for the money. But of course Long term, a lexus is as smart a choice as any other. You can call that a Badge premium I suppose

Coryuyede:

I agree with you ...

I'd take an anemic V6 over a high-revving I-4 .. just my opinion -- I like the silky smooth IS250 over the loud I-4 of the TSX ..

I think Infiniti is wise to leave Acura/Honda and Toyota/Lexus chase the customers in the I-4/entry-V6 market...

Video doesnt demonstrate the noises that the three loaner cars made between pressing ignition and the engine cranking over for the first time. I'll chalk it up to the loaners being abused, and am hereby happy to concede that the G37 is a MUCH better car than the 35, thereby requiring my need to justify my purchase. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways.
